This Privacy Policy describes how UpperVision (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit uppervision.ai, interact with our services, or connect a Facebook, Instagram, or Google Business Profile account through our applications.
1. Information We Collect
a. Information you provide directly
When you contact us, request a demo, or submit a form, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, company name, and any details you choose to share in your message.
b. Information collected through Facebook and Instagram
If you authenticate via Facebook Login to connect your business accounts to UpperVision services, we request the following permissions and use the corresponding data only for the purposes stated:
- pages_show_list — to display the list of Facebook Pages you manage so you can choose which to connect.
- pages_read_engagement — to read engagement metrics (comments, messages, reactions) on your selected Pages so our automation tools can respond or report on activity you authorize.
- instagram_basic — to read basic profile information of the Instagram Business accounts you connect.
- instagram_content_publish — to publish content to your Instagram Business accounts on your explicit instruction.
We do not collect, store, or use Facebook or Instagram data for any purpose other than delivering the service you have explicitly requested. We do not sell this data to any third party.
c. Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, we may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and referral source. This information is used to analyze site usage, prevent abuse, and improve our services.
d. Information collected through Google Business Profile
If you authorize UpperVision to manage a Google Business Profile, we request the following Google OAuth 2.0 scope and use the corresponding Google user data only for the purposes stated:
- https://www.googleapis.com/auth/business.manage — to access and manage the Google Business Profile locations you own or administer, on your behalf and at your direction.
Under this scope, the data we fetch from the Google Business Profile APIs includes:
- Location details — business name, address, service areas, categories, opening hours, phone numbers, and website URLs for the locations you connect.
- Profile metadata — account and location identifiers, verification and publication state, and profile attributes needed to identify which profile an action applies to.
- Customer reviews — review content, star ratings, reviewer display name, timestamps, and any existing owner replies.
We use this data for one purpose only: to provide the review monitoring and automated response features you have explicitly enabled. That means notifying you of new or updated reviews, reporting on review activity across your locations, and drafting or publishing replies to reviews from your business profile at your instruction and under your configuration.
We never sell Google user data to third parties, and we never use Google user data for advertising purposes of any kind — including serving ads, retargeting, personalized or interest-based advertising, or transferring it to advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers.
UpperVision’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We do not permit humans to read your Google user data except: (i) where you have given us affirmative agreement to view specific data, for example to troubleshoot an issue you have reported; (ii) where necessary for security purposes, such as investigating abuse; (iii) where required to comply with applicable law; or (iv) where the data is aggregated and de-identified and used for internal operations such as capacity planning. Google user data is stored encrypted in transit and at rest, is accessible only to the systems that deliver the features above under least-privilege access controls, and is never used to train general-purpose machine-learning models.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain our services and applications.
- Respond to inquiries, demo requests, and support tickets.
- Operate the specific automation features you authorize via Facebook, Instagram, or Google Business Profile permissions.
- Send service-related communications (account updates, security alerts, transactional emails).
- Improve site functionality and detect or prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited cases:
- Service providers — trusted third parties that host infrastructure, send transactional email, or process analytics on our behalf, under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
- Legal compliance — when required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of UpperVision, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Facebook and Instagram access tokens are stored securely and revoked when you disconnect your account or delete your data.
Google user data obtained through the Google Business Profile APIs is retained only for as long as needed to deliver the review monitoring and automated response features you have enabled. Google OAuth tokens are stored securely and are revoked and deleted when you disconnect your Google account, revoke access from your Google Account settings, or request deletion of your data. Cached Google Business Profile data is deleted within 30 days of revocation or of your deletion request, except where retention is required by law.
5. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your personal information — see our Data Deletion Request page for the exact process.
- Withdraw consent to data processing at any time.
- Disconnect any Facebook or Instagram authorization through your Facebook Business Integrations settings.
- Disconnect any Google Business Profile authorization at any time through your Google Account security settings (Google Account → Security → Your connections to third-party apps & services), or by contacting us at contact@uppervision.ai. Revoking access immediately stops all further access to your Google Business Profile data and disables the review monitoring and automated response features for that profile.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and least-privilege principles for internal systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. International Data Transfers
UpperVision operates internationally. By using our services, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, where data protection laws may differ.
8. Children’s Privacy
Our services are not directed at individuals under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
9. Cookies and Tracking
